HUMAN RIGHTS
Our human rights work crosses over into all our work areas:
EDUCATION
We produce teaching guides on human rights and cultural rights within the framework of various education projects from UNESCO and the UN. We adapt key international education papers on the culture of peace and human rights into Basque.
TRAINING
We organise specific courses about focussing on rights in development and we collaborate with other organisations to train Basque stakeholders on these issues. We promote the Human Rights Internship Programme. This in-person theoretical and practical course, run in the UN headquarters in Geneva when the Human Rights Council is in session, looks at the specific and cross-cutting application of human rights.
AWARENESS
In terms of raising awareness and impact, we organise various opportunities for coming together and reflecting on human rights. For example, each year, the international contest of audiovisual works ‘Dame un minuto de…’ (Give me 1 minute of…) promotes one human right.
