2030 AGENDA
FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
In 2015, the UN General Assembly approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with the aim of eradicating poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for everyone. It comprises 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) along with their respective targets and indicators.
UNESCO has participated in putting together the Agenda and is now working to make its implementation a reality and thus achieve sustainable human development based on the principle of ‘leaving no one behind’.
In that regard, we are taking forward 4 lines of action:
INFORMATION | RAISING AWARENESS
Providing information on the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs and their main milestones. We develop materials and campaigns adapted for different audiences so that citizens and social agents are aware of, and engaged in, the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

TRAINING
Strengthening the capabilities of key organisations and stakeholders so that they are active players in implementing the 2030 Agenda. We use a variety of formats to provide training and capacity-building resources so that every person and social agent has the tools they need to incorporate the SDGs into their everyday lives.
REFLECTION
The 2030 Agenda is constantly being shaped, which is why we want to generate reflection and debate in society on the commitment to fair and equitable sustainable human development.

PARTICIPATION
The 2030 Agenda requires the commitment and action of everyone in society. Hence, we work to ensure plural participation and influence with respect to its implementation. We work with, and encourage, both local and international alliances in that regard.
